First entry.... [06 Dec 2007|05:33pm]

Hello!
I have created this LJ so that I could find new friends and express myself.
First, let me introduce myself to all of you:

I am fifteen years old and my b-day is in December. I love making new friends and the most important thing in my life is love. I believe that giving/receiving this is the most precious thing and that nothing in the world can take it's place or be as valuable.

A dozen things you may find interesting about me:

1. My favorite color is sky blue
2. I love music
3. I love singing with music from the computer!
4. I play piano
5. My favorite singer is John Denver
6. I like to learn new things
7. I will be starting a Penn Foster correspondence course for my High School (hopefully Mommy will order it for me in September.)
8. I enjoy reading, if I have the time for it
9. We just moved to a new house (which I absolutely adore!)
10. I try to obtain a good character
11. I believe that girls/boys, men/women are COMPLETELY equal, but they ARE different. I also believe that we are ALL equal, whether we are black or white or red....get my drift? It is the PERSON themself that matters!
12. I would love to make some new friends, be they girls or boys , men or women...just so long as we share the same interests and are seeking higher ground.

Feel free to friend me if you think that we'd make "great pals!" I'm always ready to make a new friend with all the fine people there are in the world!

LOVE always and forever,
Katie

Singing at the Watson Cafe [25 Oct 2007|11:31am]
Well...today is the day of my debut. :-)
I am going to be singing with Jessica at the Watson Cafe. Some of our neighbors and friends are going to be coming to watch us, but thankfully, there aren't going to be too many people. Mommy will come to see us, too, if she is able to without the babies. :-)

I am singing "Perhaps Love" as a solo, and Jessie is going to sing "Starry, Starry Night." And together, we shall sing "Company's a'Comin" and, IF HER CAPO COMES TODAY, "Red Rubber Ball." If not, we have to think of a backup song.

Ballroom Dancing [17 Oct 2007|11:30am]
[ mood | excited ]

Yes, I'm really thinking it over! I think it would be such fun to learn ballroom dancing. I really got in the mood after listening to a whole bunch of beautiful, breathtaking pieces of Richard Clayderman's. :)

Here are  a few of the songs. Just imagine waltzing across the dance floor with these playing. Perhaps it doesn't thrill you as it does me, but I'm determined to learn how to do it well.  Square dancing just didn't do it for me. :)

Okay, how do you add music tracks?

I SHOULD be able to finish the novel I am working on now before NaNoWriMo starts this November. If I write 2,000 words a day, with the exception of writing 4,000 for three of those days, I should be able to bring it to an end just in time. I still have to think of what I'm going to write about, though! Hey, it COULD be a sequel to the novel I am writing now...or I could try my hand at fan fiction. I think it sounds like it would be terribly fun to write!

As for the moment, however, I think I'll just skedaddle over to Microsoft Word and build on to "Cassandra: The story of an Arizona Girl." Hmm...perhaps I'll make today one of those 4,000-is-my-goal days. :)

Yes! I finished rewriting the beginning of my story! But I don't know if I'll be able to write TWO THOUSAND words a day for NaNoWriMo!! Eek! Oh well, I can try anyway. Right? Just got back from shopping with Jess and Vix. :)

She's ARRIVED! [17 Aug 2007|12:10am]

Megan Emily was born around 11:25 PM. We have two pictures that were sent to us taken by a cell phone. I will post them both here. *wink* Mommy and Megan are both fine! *big smile*
I IM-ed Aunt Eileen, Joey, and David to tell them the news and later on, I called them after they turned off their Internet and I was able to do so. I also chatted with my cousin and we shared our excitement. :D

So,  just for the record, here is some information about the baby: (I don't know all the details just yet, but I can update the info. later.)
1. Height: Don't know for sure, except that she's sooo little! They usually come that way! *wink*
2. Eye color: I'm SURE they are brown like all the rest of us!!
3. Hair color: Brown again! LOL
4. Behaviour Type: Angel-like, I hope!!!!!!!!!

It's 12:20 AM. I should really get off now! G'night! Oh, and here are the two pictures!!

Mommy/daughter moment (and there are so many more to come!)

[16 Aug 2007|10:52pm]

Well, Mommy is at the hospital and it should only be one or two hours longer before Megan comes into the world! Mommy left this afternoon. My goodness, I feel like I have accomplished quite a bit today! I am very satisfied with my work! I washed two loads of Megan's baby clothes (one colored and one white), put them in the dryer, and folded and put them away. There are so many things that need to be done to keep a house clean and live-able! Today was my turn for kitchen clean up and I dealt with the dishes, wiped things off, and swept the kitchen. I also vacuumed the liivingroom of popcorn on the floor and couch from the babies "slumber party." *winks* Jessie, Vicky, and I went to Wal-Mart today to buy groceries as well! I love the feeling I get when I know I've done a job well. :D
I've decided to re-write the beginning of my story. *sighs* The good part is I'll have the $20 I earned babysitting to spend on something other than computer software (LOL!) but the bad part is I don't know if it will be as good. Oh well, I will just re-write it as well as I can and then just go back and edit it a few times...till I think it's perfect again! *wink* I have written more to it, starting from where I remember leaving off in the part that got lost.
I'd better get to bed now. Oh, but before I go, I want to share a funny story...
I had just finished putting Lisa's hair up in curlers and Jessie was still curling my hair when I heard something--it sounded like someone was switching users on the computer. "I just heard something! It sounded like someone was---" suddenly the cell phone that Mommy left rang (very loudly...it's set for a classical song) and we all screamed!! LOL It was SOOOO hilarious! What fun! *wink* Of course it was just a little while ago, and all dark outside, and we were all alone in the house...just us girls.
Jessie offered for Lisa to sleep in Mommy's bed with her tonight...she has to sleep down there cause of the babies...which she NEVER lets Lisa do!! LOL Of course I had fun teasing her! *wink*
It's 11:07 PM. I wonder how much longer it will be? Thankfully, the phone call was letting us know how Mommy was and she got a pain killer and immediately her face relaxed! That's very good!!
Must try and get some sleep now! G'night!

This MAY be IT! [15 Aug 2007|08:27pm]

Mommy just may have her baby tonight! Her due date is Aug. 27th but looks like Megan Emily may be so anxious to come into the world that she just can't wait 12 more days!
As you can imagine, I am quite excited....this may not be IT, but it could be....!

Ready to hear me complain? [14 Aug 2007|02:31pm]

Yesterday I decided I would start writing a story; help me get practice so that I can decide whether or not I want to participate in NaNoWriMo this year. I wrote some of it down on paper because Lisa was on the computer but when she got off, I typed it up and ADDED TO IT! (Yeah, that's why I'm crying!) I'm very happy to say that I was very pleased with the results of my work....
but it all got deleted and I could just SCREEEEEAAAM!
I found a software called "Un-eraser" and it is supposed to recover files, but it costs $40. I'm gonna be trying to scrape up half of that from taking surveys on Cash Crate and the other half Mommy agreed to pay. I can't wait to get my story back! There's no way I'm re-writing because I firmly believe that my first draft will always be the best...I've had experience with re-writing before. Oh, what a pain!

Now for the less important news....
Carrie got a new bike today with training wheels! She likes it! (LOL THIS, I am sure, is more important to her than my old story *wink*)

I decorated my dry-erase board with stickers (an idea from Jessie)....I suggest that all of you get one! They are sooo handy! LOL

It seems like there is SOMETHING else, but I can't remember it!! Oh well, I guess it just wasn't important! :)

Ah, Mommy was just commenting on Lisa's picture. She is QUITE the artist. She was working on a picture which she called, "Mr. Cool Pig" and now she is drawing a Candy Land picture. She is amazing! I'll have to post a picture of the former later. She drew it simply from her imagination and she's just sooo good! LOL

Nothing much.... [12 Aug 2007|06:07pm]

Nothing much to write about today. We went canoeing and swimming in the Susquehanna River again. And before that, I visited Jane and brought her a piece of Jess's graduation cake...she seemed to like it when she had it when she was here yesterday.
Mommy made a schedule up for us all so that we can get our work done in the morning and have the rest of the day free.
I can't wait to get my High School correspondence course!
I would like to contribute a novel to NaNoWriMo this year. Don't know how it would turn out, but I'd like to try anyway!

Yesterday evening I lay out on the grass in the front of our house and looked up at the beautiful sky! How I loved it! The sun was setting and there was a display of orange across the heaven.
I love watching the sun set and laying there in the grass was wonderful. You know, the world looks different when you're in that position--you can't see it! LOL

I'd better run now. I'm hungry and Mommy's back with KFC!

PS. I saw an eagle, heron, and two LARGE fish when we were at the Susquehanna River! That was really neat!

Jane [11 Aug 2007|05:08pm]
I spent a lot of my time today with a darling 75 year-old lady named Jane. She is our neighbor and has a sad story to tell. Her only sister died in a car accident and both of her parents are gone now. She is the only one left in the family. :( We offered her ice cream, coffee and cake and I know she enjoyed being with me and my family. I want to visit her often--she hardly ever gets company and I know what that is like. She is very sweet and dear and I'd like to do what I can to keep her from being lonely. I repeatedly let her know that she is always welcome at our house and that we will visit her often--she liked that and it will also give me the chance I have been wanting as well; to have a bit of social spice in my life.

Poor little angels! [10 Aug 2007|11:44pm]
I just got back upstairs from dealing with the two little ones. It was the most heartbreaking thing! Mommy had gone to take a bath giving us instructions to keep an ear out for the babies. I was sitting here, editing my first entry, when I heard a crying sound from downstairs. I hurried down the flight of stairs that led to the first floor and when I got to the basement stairs (Mommy's and the babies room are located in the basement) I saw Vicky and Carrie both crying and heading up. They must have felt as if they'd been betrayed! The poor little dears!
Carrie has been worried these past few nights that "she will miss us" when she goes to sleep and she also had a nightmare that someone was coming down the basement steps before. It's the saddest thing to watch her trying to be brave when it's time to go to bed. :(
I brought them back downstairs and put them back in their beds and tucked them in. I had to get Vicky back out and hold her for a few seconds, though, because she wouldn't stop crying.
Now isn't that enough to soften a hard heart? It should be!

What do you know? [10 Aug 2007|09:43pm]

I actually talked to living, breathing human beings today...other than family. Wish I could do that more often! LOL
Our landlord came today.....I think I probably made a better impression on him today than last time when I met him in my nightgown and robe. LOL I had gotten up with the babies last Saturday or the Saturday before that and hadn't had a chance to change into my day clothes! LOL
Our neighbor, Stephanie, is very sweet and her kids are nice, too. She has one daughter, Lizzy who is 8, and one son, TC who is 5. :) We played ball with them today and they played on our swing-set. They're cute!
I also cleaned the upstairs bathroom and vacuumed the upstairs rooms. We vacuum and clean and dust the house every Friday. I'm glad that it's another week before Friday rolls around!
*sigh* Our neighbor offered to have us go to church with her if we don't already have a church that we go to. It was real sweet of her, but....

I am not one for religion...rather, I am one for right-living w/o all the rest. You don't have to go to church every Sunday to be able to know it's wrong to kill, you really oughtn't slap your sister like that, etc. etc. And I chatted with my cousins tonight and they brought up the Bible and where we are reading in it...I suppose they think that it is a mutual thing between us. Well, that's where they're wrong. And I didn't tell them so either. :(  If there is one thing that discourages me, it is not being myself and not expressing myself to other people accurately. It makes me so mad...I could kick myself. :( And yet, who knows what their reaction would be if I said, "I don't read the Bible anymore!" Wow! I can see the smelling salts coming out already! LOL No, but I want to express myself, let people know what I honestly think/believe/feel no matter what they're gonna think of me! How can I be happy with myself if I'm not even letting people know who I am and where I stand? It's so discouraging and I'm so unhappy with myself when I pretend to be someone I'm not. *sigh*
And whenever Jo mentioned the name of an actress, I asked if I should look her up and she replied, "Not on Sabbath!" I remained quiet and tried to change the subject. I don't know what my views are sometimes and things get all confusing. :( I grew up with a lot of religion involved with my life and I guess that's what turned me off--seeing how far people can take it and realizing that a person can be good without ever even reading the Bible! I do know one thing for sure...and that is the fact that a person can never express themself too much or be too honest about who they are and what they believe....of course with the exception that they shouldn't jam it down someone's throat or talk about it non-stop to a person who really doesn't care to listen, all the while, however, without once betraying what is right. I wish I was the kind of person to whom this came easier. I don't want people's opinions or beliefs to sidetrack me from my own. I only want what is true and good and right! It's 12:21 AM and I just came back to edit this post. My gosh! I have to get to bed!

What is a person worth if they will not stand up to what they believe in?

Now for the news.... [10 Aug 2007|12:19pm]

Okay, I've had my night of sleep and I'm ready to give it another go. LOL

As you may remember my sister, Jessica, graduated from her MT school. Because of this, we decided to give her a surprise party. So yesterday whenever Mommy, Jess, and Vicky went out to the store, Lisa, Carrie and I stayed home to get the decorations hung up and bake a cake. Lisa had already mixed up the batter and when they stepped out the door, she slid the cake into the oven which I had preheated when Jess wasn't looking. *wink*

Lisa and Carrie were in the living-room dealing with the decorations while I whipped up some butter frosting and stuck it in the fridge.

After I was through with that, I joined the two girls in the living-room and nearly fainted blowing up balloons. Honestly, I got so dizzy filling those darn things! LOL

Mommy called home before we were through and asked if we were ready for her to come back. When I answered in the negative, she said she'd show Jess the Lewisburg Hospital to stall her.  :) Thank goodness!

The living-room was decorated when they pulled up and I had just finished frosting and decorating the cake with three pink artificial flowers....it looked lovely! Lisa had the idea to put the flowers on and I was thrilled with the results! I've posted some pictures so you can see for yourself! *wink*

Anyway, when they arrived home, I was still wiping extra frosting off the sides of the cake plate so it wouldn't look tacky so I had to run to the pantry and sit it on the floor before Jess came in and saw it. It's ashame there had to be baking items on the counter...or else it really would have been a surprise! LOL At least she didn't SEE the actual cake itself until we were ready. :)

We bought Jess a large decorative hat box at Family Dollar for a party present and she seemed to like it very much!

Now do you see why I didn't want to post this last night? LOL
